Namibian MP Mathias Mbundu has called on the government to allocate 10 million Namibian dollars to help bread sellers and small street traders. He says bread price-control measures are hurting their incomes and families, according to The Namibian.

Namibian MP Mathias Mbundu, a member of the Republican Party, has asked the government to allocate 10 million Namibian dollars to support bread sellers and other street vendors whose businesses have been affected by the difficulties cited. He made the request during debate on the 2026-2027 budget bill in the National Assembly, The Namibian reported.

Mathias Mbundu said the measures taken by the government had not sufficiently protected bread sellers and the families who depend on this trade for their income. The requested aid is intended to help the affected traders continue to provide for their households, according to The Namibian.
