An exhibition devoted to Ghanaian kente has attracted more than 11,000 visitors in Moscow, as part of the Russia-Ghana Parliamentary Forum. Ghanaian President John Mahama praised the cultural exchange between the two countries, 3News reports, without specifying how long the exhibition will run.
More than 11,000 people visited an exhibition in Moscow devoted to kente, a traditional Ghanaian textile, according to President John Mahama. Organised by the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) as part of the Russia-Ghana Parliamentary Forum, it is being held at the Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Coordinated by Ghana’s Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, the exhibition presents pieces and explanations translated into Russian, including information about adinkra symbols. John Mahama praised the organisers’ work and said exchanges between people helped make the cultures of the two countries better known.
The visit is part of Mahama’s trip to Russia, where he also called for the resumption of talks between Moscow and Kyiv (resumption of Russia-Ukraine talks).
