Nigerian psychiatrist Kabirat Kilanse-Oni recommends that women take persistent symptoms seriously, manage stress and consult healthcare professionals. She gave the advice at a forum organised in Lagos by the Bountiis Foundation, according to Pmnewsnigeria.

Health specialists called on women to seek medical advice quickly in the event of persistent symptoms and to take better care of their mental and physical health at the seventh Muslimah Health Forum, held on Saturday in Lagos by Bountiis, Pmnewsnigeria reports. Psychiatrist Kabirat Kilanse-Oni, of the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital in Yaba, notably cited persistent headaches and fatigue as signs that could indicate an underlying health problem.

Kabirat Kilanse-Oni recommended reducing stress, getting enough rest and seeking professional medical advice. She warned that prolonged stress could keep cortisol levels high, disrupt the body’s normal functioning and increase the risks of anxiety and depression.

Lasbat Kabiawu-Mutiu, Bountiis Foundation’s public relations officer, advised against using artificial intelligence or social media influencers to make a diagnosis. She also said that the forum’s sponsors had provided free medical consultations to participants. Patron Lateefah Adelekan, for her part, recommended a balanced diet, sufficient protein and moderate carbohydrate consumption to help control blood sugar levels.
