Senegal forward Ismaïla Sarr could miss both matches against Sudan, scheduled for 12 and 16 November in the AFCON 2027 qualifiers, after a recurrence of his groin injury. His Crystal Palace coach, Pierre Sage, says he will not be able to play before the international break, reports Afrik-Foot; midfielder Bara Sapoko Ndiaye, who has undergone surgery for appendicitis, is also expected to be unavailable.

Ismaïla Sarr is expected to miss Senegal’s matches against Sudan, scheduled for 12 and 16 November in the third and fourth rounds of the AFCON 2027 qualifiers. The Crystal Palace winger has suffered a groin injury recurrence and is unable to play, his coach Pierre Sage said at a press conference, predicting his return after the international break.

Senegalese midfielder Bara Sapoko Ndiaye, 18, with four caps, could also miss the squad’s training camp. The Bayern Munich player has undergone surgery for appendicitis and is not expected to be available for two weeks, according to wiwsport.

Senegal are second in Group J, behind Mozambique on goal difference. The Lions drew 1-1 with Mozambique and then beat Ethiopia 0-1 on 25 and 29 September. Two wins against Sudan would bring them closer to qualification, according to Afrik-Foot.

These absences concern the Lions’ next training camp, announced for the AFCON 2027 qualifiers after the Lions’ training camp in Diamniadio on 24 October.
