Senegal’s national football team will gather in Diamniadio to prepare for its two matches against Sudan, counting towards the third and fourth rounds of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Senenews reports. The base camp, initially planned for the King Fahd Palace, has been moved. The team will also train for four days at the Léopold Sédar Senghor Stadium.
The change of venue is intended to preserve the pitch ahead of Sudan’s visit, according to a source close to the matter cited by Senenews. The outlet also reports that head coach Patrick Vieira’s press conference has been postponed to 5 November and that he has already submitted his preliminary squad list.
Patrick Vieira, a former France international and Senegal head coach, took up his duties in October. He then set out his ambitions for the team in a presentation of his project.
