He also paid tribute to bereaved families and the injured, according to the Presidency of Faso, cited by Lefaso.net.

Burkinabè President Ibrahim Traoré promised on 31 October to lead Burkina Faso towards “total” freedom, sovereignty and independence. In a message dedicated to the martyrs, he reaffirmed his commitment to continuing the “war of liberation” against imperialism and terrorist groups, according to the Presidency of Faso, cited by Lefaso.net.

Ibrahim Traoré paid tribute to those killed during socio-political events and the ongoing conflict. He praised the resilience of their bereaved families and expressed solidarity with the injured, whom he described as “living heroes” bearing the scars of these events.

The statement follows the head of state’s calls for sovereignty and national unity, including his appeal for unity and Burkinabè sovereignty published on 16 October. It comes two days after his call to make the Russia-Africa partnership, announced on 29 October, a reality.
