Madagascan driver Iaro Razanakoto won his first GT3 race in Buriram, Thailand, on Sunday 1 November and became the first African to win in this category in the Thailand Super Series, L’Express de Madagascar reports. He won the second race of the season’s fourth and final round, driving an Audi R8 Evo 2 shared with Thai-Norwegian driver Sandy Kraokew Stuvik.
The pair finished fourth in the first race, held on Saturday. They also secured two third-place finishes this season, at Bangsaen in July and then at Sepang, Malaysia, at the beginning of October. Razanakoto, Thailand’s 2025 GT4 champion, was competing in his first GT3 season.
“My dream has finally come true, ten years later, after so much effort,” Razanakoto wrote on Facebook, dedicating his victory to the Malagasy people and Africa. For this final round, his team allowed him to race in a car bearing the colours of the Malagasy flag.
