Ghana’s association of food suppliers for the Free SHS programme plans a five-day demonstration in Accra to demand payment of its unpaid 2024 invoices. The action is due to take place from 16 to 20 November 2026 outside the Ghana Commodity Exchange, according to the association’s notice to the institution’s management.
Food suppliers for the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) programme, which provides free senior secondary education in Ghana, are planning a five-day demonstration from 16 to 20 November 2026 outside the Ghana Commodity Exchange (GCX) in Accra to demand payment for deliveries made in 2024. The Controlled Food Suppliers Association (CFSA) says its members remain unpaid, according to a notice signed by its administrative secretary, Cornelius Korku Logo, and reported by MyJoyOnline.
The association gave the GCX a two-week deadline on 7 October to settle the amounts owed. The deadline expired on 21 October without payment, despite several reminders, the CFSA says. It says it has exhausted the steps taken with the Exchange and wants to use the demonstration to secure payment of the debts from the competent authorities.
