The traditional chief of Jirapa, Naa Di-Naa Donlabong III, has called on people in the area, in Ghana and in the diaspora to contribute to their community’s development, Starr FM reports. He was speaking at the official launch of the Anwelle Foundation at the Royal Cosy Hills Hotel in Jirapa.
The chief called for local knowledge, skills and resources to be used to address social challenges. The foundation’s founder and chief executive, Frank Anwelle, had earlier met traditional authorities to present the organisation’s vision.
Upper West Regional Minister Charles Lwanga Puozuing urged the foundation to remain committed to sustainable development, particularly youth empowerment and agriculture. Daniel N. Kolubah, Liberia’s presidential envoy for trade, investment and special missions, stressed the importance of access to networks, resources and economic opportunities.
The foundation said the launch was also intended to expand its partnerships and mobilise support to extend its activities. Participants highlighted the importance of collaboration, innovation and accountability to ensure opportunities benefit those who need them.
