A technical fault has halted service at six stations on Line 1 of the Algiers Metro: Mer et Soleil, Amirouche, Les Fusillés, Jardin d’Essai, Hamma and Aïssat Idir. The Algiers Metro Operating Company reported the suspension on 1 November and said the rest of the network continued to operate.

A technical fault led the Algiers Metro Operating Company (SEMA) to suspend service at six stations on Line 1 on Sunday 1 November, according to a notice issued to passengers by the operator. Mer et Soleil, Amirouche, Les Fusillés, Jardin d’Essai, Hamma and Aïssat Idir stations are closed until further notice.

Services are still running between 1er Mai and Place des Martyrs. Two other connections run from Haï El Badr to El Harrach and Aïn Naâdja, leaving passengers with three routes still in operation, according to Métro d’Alger.

Technical teams have been sent to establish the cause of the fault and restore service. SEMA has not announced when service will resume. The disruption comes after the Algiers Metro returned to normal service, as announced on 22 September.
