Egypt aims to raise exports of medical products to $1.25 billion, drawing on the capabilities of its pharmaceutical industry. The strategy seeks to turn its competitive advantage into additional international market share, as part of national industrial ambitions, according to Egyptian newspaper Al-Youm al-Sabea.

Egypt plans to raise its exports of medical products to $1.25 billion in 2026, from about $1 billion in 2025. The sector includes medicines, medical supplies and cosmetics, according to estimates by the medicines division of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce.

The target is included in the official document for the integrated economic and social development plan, presented by Ahmed Rustom, Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, and subsequently approved by the House of Representatives and the Senate.
