Tunisia’s Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy has authorised EXXOIL SA to hold 100% of the rights and obligations in the El Menzah oil concession. The transfer notably includes the shares held by ETAP and Ecumed Petroleum Grombalia Limited, according to the order published in Tunisia’s Official Gazette and reported by La Presse.

EXXOIL SA has become the 100% holder of the El Menzah hydrocarbon exploitation concession in Tunisia. Tunisia’s Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy authorised the full transfer of the rights and obligations held by the Tunisian Company of Petroleum Activities (ETAP), the state-owned oil-sector company, and Ecumed Petroleum Grombalia Limited, according to an order published on Friday 23 October 2026 in the Official Gazette of the Tunisian Republic.

ETAP accepted EXXOIL SA’s request and waived its participation in the development and production operations at the El Menzah field. The company had submitted its request to the Directorate-General of Hydrocarbons on 18 January 2024, before ETAP’s approval on 3 September 2024 and the favourable opinion of the Hydrocarbons Advisory Committee on 27 September 2024, La Presse reports.
