Cameroonian and Equatorial Guinean delegations harmonised their positions on the operations agreement for the Yoyo-Yolanda transboundary gas fields. The 4 November meeting in Yaoundé prepares discussions with Chevron, according to Cameroon’s National Hydrocarbons Corporation.
Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea consolidated their common position on the draft Operations Agreement for the Yoyo-Yolanda transboundary gas fields unit. The delegations met on 4 November 2026 in Yaoundé, at the headquarters of the National Hydrocarbons Corporation (SNH), before preparing for discussions with Chevron, the project’s partner, according to the SNH.
The Cameroonian delegation was led by Nathalie Moudiki, an adviser to the SNH, while the Equatorial Guinean side was headed by Oscar Berniko, director-general of state entities and oil assets at Equatorial Guinea’s Ministry of Hydrocarbons. The discussions concerned arrangements for the joint development of the Yoyo-Yolanda fields, located on either side of the maritime border.
The project is based on a bilateral agreement signed on 17 March 2023 by Presidents Paul Biya and Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, followed by a unitisation agreement concluded on 3 February 2026 in Malabo. The Yaoundé meeting is preparing the next discussions with Chevron on implementing the cross-border gas development.
