A correctional court has adjourned until 12 November the trial of three people prosecuted after a complaint by former Algerian Minister of Youth and Sports Raouf Bernaoui. The defendants are accused, among other things, of defamation and distributing private photographs, Ennahar reports.

The trial of three people facing charges following a complaint by Raouf Sellal Bernaoui, Algeria’s former Minister of Youth and Sports, has been adjourned until 12 November. The magistrate at the correctional court postponed the hearing to allow all those accused to appear, Ennahar reports, as cited by Algérie 360.

Bernaoui, a civil party in the case, accuses the three defendants of harming his honour and reputation. He took the matter to court on 1 December 2022, according to Ennahar.

The charges include recording and transmitting, without his consent, photographs taken in a private place. The defendants are also accused of defamation and of making images of Bernaoui public without authorisation, Ennahar reports.
