American Jewish Committee reaffirms support for Morocco’s territorial integrity

A delegation from the American Jewish Committee, led by Jason Isaacson, reaffirmed its support for Morocco’s territorial integrity at a meeting with Ahmed Touizi, president of Morocco’s House of Representatives. Talks also covered stronger ties between Morocco and the United States, including parliamentary cooperation and economic links, according to a statement from the House.

The American Jewish Committee (AJC), a US organisation advocating civil and religious rights, reaffirmed its support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over the Sahara in Rabat on Monday. Its delegation, led by Jason Isaacson, the organisation’s director of government and international affairs, met Ahmed Touizi, president of Morocco’s House of Representatives, according to a statement from the House.

Ahmed Touizi called for stronger cooperation between Morocco and the United States, particularly in parliamentary affairs, and for broader economic and trade ties. He also presented Morocco as a model of religious and cultural coexistence, highlighting the place of its Hebrew heritage in the national identity, according to the statement.

The AJC delegation praised the countries’ historic relations and Morocco’s role in promoting regional and international peace and security. The meeting follows Ahmed Touizi’s election as president of Morocco’s House of Representatives on 15 October, and comes amid several international expressions of support for Morocco’s plan for the Sahara.
