SNS Holding announced the industrial agreement on Sunday 20 September.

The National Company for Structural Steelwork and Boiler-making (ENCC SPA), a subsidiary of the National Steel Company (SNS Holding), and the Algerian group Ferrovial have signed an industrial cooperation framework agreement to manufacture wagons for transporting phosphate. The agreement covers mining rail transport more broadly, SNS Holding said in a statement published on Sunday 20 September.

The partnership is part of a national programme to produce wagons in Algeria for mining products, primarily phosphate. According to SNS Holding, it is intended to support the development of the national rail industry and the development of the country’s mineral resources.
