Emirati oil company Adnoc is partnering with OpenAI to deploy its Frontier platform in its operations, while Saudi Aramco is acquiring a 49% stake in Saudi AI company Humain. The deal includes about $2.6 billion in cash and digital assets, and Humain is targeting 3 gigawatts of data centre capacity by 2030, according to Infomediaire.

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc), the United Arab Emirates’ state-owned oil company, will deploy OpenAI’s artificial intelligence platform Frontier as part of a partnership announced in Abu Dhabi on Monday, Infomediaire reports. Adnoc plans, among other things, to use AI agents to forecast supply and demand, crude oil prices and margins, drawing on data from thousands of wells and hundreds of facilities. Emirati technology group G42 is also taking part in the initiative.

In Saudi Arabia, the national oil company Saudi Aramco has acquired a 49% stake in Humain, an artificial intelligence company established in May 2025 by the Saudi Public Investment Fund. The deal includes a cash contribution of about $2.6 billion and assets related to AI and digital technologies. Humain is aiming for total data centre capacity of three gigawatts by 2030.

Adnoc chief executive and UAE Minister of Industry Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber said shipping and electricity now account for more than 30% of the cost of a barrel, compared with less than 5% previously. The two deals reflect the growing interest of Gulf energy groups in artificial intelligence.
