Cameroon coach Guy Feutchine believes his U23 side put up an encouraging performance against the U17s despite some players having only two training sessions. He now wants to correct the shortcomings observed and continue making adjustments before upcoming fixtures, according to his comments after the friendly.
Cameroon's U23 Lions coach, Guy Feutchine, believes his team still need to improve after the friendly match against the U17 Lions. Some players had only completed two training sessions before the game, the Cameroonian coach explained, while praising their commitment despite their incomplete preparation.
Guy Feutchine now wants to correct the shortcomings observed and consolidate the positive aspects before the upcoming fixtures. “I cannot say today that we are 100% ready, but we are on target,” he said, adding that work would continue to improve the group's performance.
The coach is also preparing for the match against Rwanda U23 by following the progress of his future opponents since 30 September. He said that 10 of the 28 players called up by Rwanda during the previous FIFA window in September had been replaced and that the squad now had six professional players, compared with five previously. Guy Feutchine says he can identify Rwanda's 11 starters.
