José Mourinho believes Cristiano Ronaldo has not yet finished his journey in football and envisages a possible move into management for the Portuguese forward. The former Real Madrid coach respects his international retirement but considers that Ronaldo still has ambitions to fulfil, according to La Nouvelle Tribune.

José Mourinho, coach of Real Madrid, envisages the possibility that Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal captain and Al-Nassr player, might one day become a coach after his playing career. "If I see him one day becoming a coach? I don't know what to say. It is still too early," said Mourinho, quoted by La Nouvelle Tribune.

Mourinho nevertheless believes that Ronaldo has not yet finished pursuing his goals in football and says he respects his decision regarding the Portuguese national team. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is currently continuing his club career with Al-Nassr, according to La Nouvelle Tribune.

The prospect raised by Mourinho comes after the end of Cristiano Ronaldo's international career with Portugal, announced on 5 November 2026. Cristiano Ronaldo's international retirement subsequently prompted several reactions, while José Mourinho had declined to judge Cristiano Ronaldo on 6 November.
