Ukrainian police have arrested a 17-year-old girl suspected of helping Russian intelligence services poison Ukrainian soldiers. Two servicemen died after receiving by post capsules potentially containing lethal doses of methadone, according to police, cited by Zambianobserver.

Investigators suspect the organisers contacted servicemen on Telegram by offering them free drugs. The packages were allegedly sent under false identities, with instructions to film themselves consuming the capsules without revealing their contents. Police say they identified other recipients in several regions and prevented four other planned killings.

The authorities suspect the girl acted on the instructions of a Russian intermediary, who allegedly promised her at least 5,000 hryvnias. She is being prosecuted for complicity in premeditated murder and drug distribution. If convicted, she faces up to 15 years in prison; the charges have not been established in court.
