The Takku Wallu Sénégal parliamentary group is challenging the 2026 supplementary finance bill, citing a 340 billion CFA franc drop in revenue and a 555 billion CFA franc fall in public investment. After abstaining, it says it is maintaining its position following Pastef’s rejection of the bill in committee, according to its statement reported by Seneweb.
The Takku Wallu Sénégal parliamentary group is challenging a 340 billion CFA franc drop in state revenue in the 2026 supplementary finance bill. It maintained its abstention in the plenary vote and criticised the bill put forward by the government, according to a statement from the group reported by Seneweb.
Takku Wallu Sénégal also denounced a 451 billion CFA franc decline in expected resources from the Economic and Social Recovery Plan (PRES), as well as a 555 billion CFA franc cut in public investment. The group says the budget deficit stands at 7.6% of gross domestic product, more than double the community standard, and believes the announced tougher tax enforcement risks worsening the difficulties of already weakened businesses.
The group’s position comes after the Senegalese Finance Committee rejected the 2026 supplementary finance bill on 23 October. It also follows demands made by the Pastef group to protect social spending and the supplementary budget, announced the same day.
