Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe has launched the Evolve account for women in partnership with Plan International Zimbabwe to facilitate access to banking services and strengthen the financial security of female entrepreneurs, the Daily News reported. The product targets women from different socio-economic backgrounds, particularly those working in trade, agriculture, catering or services.
The account provides for a daily cash withdrawal limit of 200 US dollars, daily terminal payments of up to 1,000 dollars and a maximum balance of 2,000 dollars, said Solomon Nyanhongo, chief executive of Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe. He said the bank could offer a more suitable solution to customers whose businesses exceeded these limits.
Solomon Nyanhongo said the partnership with Plan International Zimbabwe would also give women entrepreneurs knowledge, networks, greater confidence and access to markets. He presented the account as a first step towards a broader banking relationship, rather than a limit on business development.
