The murder trial of South African businessman Katiso “KT” Molefe has been postponed to 19 July 2027 because of a separate case involving two co-accused. The four defendants face 35 charges, including murder and conspiracy, in a case linked to the killings of DJ Sumbody, DJ Vintos and Armand Swart, Mg reports.

The murder trial of South African businessman Katiso “KT” Molefe has been postponed to 19 July 2027 by the Johannesburg High Court, on Monday 26 October, according to Mg. Proceedings could not begin as scheduled because two co-accused are awaiting the conclusion of a separate case involving businessman Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.

Tiego Floyd Mabusela and Musa Kekana are involved in a trial within a trial in that other case. Along with Molefe and co-accused Michael Pule Tau, they face 35 charges, including murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition. The prosecution says the murders are linked and intends to present evidence in support of its case.

The case includes the assassinations of South African DJ Sumbody, DJ Vintos and engineer Armand Swart, who was killed in Vereeniging. Molefe is out on bail of 400,000 rand, while his three co-accused are in custody.

The postponement comes on the day the DJ Sumbody murder trial was due to open, as announced on 26 October. Both cases concern the assassination of the South African DJ.
