Royal Air Maroc to link Casablanca and Essaouira from 1 November

Royal Air Maroc will launch a Casablanca–Essaouira route on 1 November 2026, with two return flights a week and a subsidised fare of 400 dirhams each way in economy class. Flights are scheduled for Wednesdays and Sundays, under a partnership between the airline, several ministries and regional authorities, according to Infomediaire.

Royal Air Maroc (RAM), Morocco’s national airline, will launch a route between Casablanca and Essaouira on 1 November 2026, with two return flights a week. The economy-class fare will be set at 400 dirhams each way, according to Infomediaire.

Flights will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays. On Wednesdays, the flight is scheduled to leave Casablanca at 4pm and arrive in Essaouira at 5.20pm; the return flight will take off at 6pm. On Sundays, planes will leave Casablanca at 8.20am and depart Essaouira at 10.20am. Transport and Logistics Minister Abdessamad Kayouh said the arrival of new jet aircraft could bring the journey time down to under 30 minutes.

The route is also intended to facilitate connections to the 86 international destinations served from Casablanca’s Mohammed V Airport. The launch ceremony was held in Essaouira on Wednesday, attended by Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy Minister Jalal Charaf, among others. The new service is part of Royal Air Maroc’s development strategy to 2030, according to Abdessamad Kayouh.

The launch follows the airline’s announcement of its financial targets, including a goal of 25 billion dirhams in revenue in 2026. Royal Air Maroc has also recently expanded its international services with two weekly flights between Frankfurt and Agadir, operated by Discover Airlines.
