Real Madrid players expect their French striker Kylian Mbappé to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or. Their belief is said to have strengthened after his brace in the 2-1 La Liga win over Barcelona, The Athletic reports, according to the Daily Post.

Real Madrid players believe Kylian Mbappé, the Spanish club’s French striker, will win the 2026 Ballon d’Or, the annual award for the best footballer. They have reportedly held this belief for several weeks, according to The Athletic, cited by the Daily Post.

Mbappé’s brace in the 2-1 win over FC Barcelona in La Liga on Sunday strengthened that confidence in the Madrid dressing room. The Frenchman has already arrived in London, where the Ballon d’Or ceremony is due to be held, according to The Athletic.

This expectation follows Mbappé’s brace in the Clásico on 25 October, and the announcement of his 100 goals for Real Madrid, published on 25 October.
