Front Militan Progresis leader Paul Bérenger is demanding the identities of former Scotland Yard investigators involved in the investigation into the death of Soopramanien Kistnen. He called it “unacceptable and shocking” that no arrests or disciplinary measures had been announced six years after the investigation began, he said at a press conference on Saturday 31 October.
Paul Bérenger returned to the urgent parliamentary question on the progress of the case, asked on Tuesday 27 October. He objects to former British police investigators being used instead of serving officers and is calling for their names to be made public, according to Defimedia.
The partially burned body of Soopramanien Kistnen, a former agent of the Mouvement socialiste militant, was found in a sugar-cane field in Telfair in October 2020. The case had already prompted Mauritian politician Roshi Bhadain to challenge the investigation on 29 October.
