The roof over the stands at Ibrahima Guèye Stadium, damaged more than a year ago by severe weather, is to be rehabilitated in Mbacké. Mayor Gallo Ba says he contacted the Infrastructure Minister and announces that a technical team will soon be sent, according to Seneweb.

The mayor of Mbacké, Gallo Ba, has announced the forthcoming rehabilitation of the roof over the stands at Ibrahima Guèye Stadium, which was damaged more than a year ago by strong winds accompanied by rain. He said he had contacted Senegal’s Infrastructure Minister, Déthié Fall, and expected a technical team to be sent in the coming months, according to Seneweb.

Gallo Ba, who is also director of the Agency for Works and Road Management (Ageroute), also promised to build a youth centre and announced that the rehabilitation of Mbacké’s open-air theatre was almost complete. He also said funding was available for a special programme to modernise 100 to 150 kilometres of roads in Touba and Mbacké, with the support of the Infrastructure Ministry and the Senegalese presidency.

The announcement came the day after the presentation of an equipment project for Dimath Stadium, whose stands and floodlights are to be completed in 2027. Gallo Ba was speaking in Mbacké during the final of the Mayor’s Cup, organised by the Departmental Organisation for Coordinating Holiday Activities (ODCAV).
