Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk says recent home wins have revived enthusiasm among Anfield supporters. After eliminating Chelsea on penalties in the League Cup, the Reds head into their league match against Arsenal with confidence, Citizen Digital reports.

Liverpool have won their last three home matches, against Villarreal, Brighton and Chelsea, in three different competitions, restoring confidence among Anfield supporters ahead of Sunday’s Premier League match against Arsenal, Citizen Digital reports. The Reds beat Chelsea on penalties in the League Cup after a 1-1 draw.

Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk believes the renewed energy in the stands has accompanied this run of results. Liverpool also appear to be adapting better to the instructions of their new manager Andoni Iraola, who arrived in June after Arne Slot’s departure, according to Citizen Digital.

Against Chelsea, Iraola made seven changes and fielded four players under the age of 22. Liverpool then won the penalty shootout 6-5 and qualified for the quarter-finals, where they will face Bournemouth. The qualification is detailed in Liverpool’s win over Chelsea.
