Ivory Coast’s Ministry of National Education has launched preparatory work in Yamoussoukro for a national project to revive school theatre through the play “L’École des vertus”. A school tour is intended to promote civic-mindedness and living together, according to AIP.

The Ivorian Ministry of National Education, Literacy and Technical Education began preparatory work in Yamoussoukro on Wednesday 4 November 2026 for the nationwide rollout of a project to revive school theatre, including a tour of the play “L’École des vertus”, according to the Ivorian Press Agency (AIP). The meeting is intended to define the practical organisation of the tour in schools across the country.

The play, written and directed by Ivorian playwright Diallo Ticouai Vincent, portrays pupils confronted with the use of harmful substances and other risky behaviour. The project aims to promote civic-mindedness, discipline, responsibility and living together, according to the Ministry of National Education.

Representatives of the minister’s office, decentralised services, cultural figures and technical partners also examined the selection of host schools, logistical requirements, and the mechanism for coordinating and monitoring the tour. The project is led by the Directorate of School Life and the Directorate of Communication and Audiovisual Production, under the supervision of the minister’s office.
