The Ivorian NGO Education, Training, Development-Côte d’Ivoire (EFODEV-CI) awarded 56 pupils in Abidjan for their results in the CEPE, BEPC and baccalaureate exams during the 2025-2026 school year on Saturday 31 October. The organisation also paid tribute to 50 retired staff of the Ministry of National Education, according to AIP.

The pupils honoured come from the four regional directorates of National Education and Literacy in Abidjan. Representing EFODEV-CI’s president, school-life inspector Koné Adama praised their perseverance and the role of parents, teachers and supervisors in their success.

Diomandé Maférima, secretary-general of the Abidjan 2 regional directorate, urged staff nearing retirement to maintain their professional commitment until the end of their careers. On behalf of the retirees, Coulibaly Patrice, a former English teacher and former head of the Lycée international Descartes, called for such initiatives to continue.

The awards are part of a series of educational initiatives in Ivory Coast, following the distribution of school kits by the Mondé Educ NGO to pupils in Guiglo on 1 October and the recognition of 37 technical education figures in Yamoussoukro on 5 October.
