Harry Kane, Bayern Munich’s English striker, is close to signing an extension that would keep him at the German club until at least 2029, Punch reports. Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen told Sport Bild on Wednesday that he was very optimistic and that the details of the contract were being negotiated.
Kane’s current contract runs until summer 2027. An agreement in principle was reportedly reached earlier in October, and the final terms are being settled. Kane joined Bayern in 2023 after leaving Tottenham Hotspur.
The announcement comes a day after the English striker was awarded the 2026 Ballon d’Or on 27 October, as reported in the announcement of his win. It follows a 28 October report that the award could encourage him to stay at Bayern, in the reasons he may stay.
