Ghanaian prophet Jimmy Alla-Mensah marks 20 years in prophetic ministry, which began in November 2006 after a career in network and security engineering. Based in the United States, he describes the change of direction as a spiritual calling rather than the result of professional setbacks, according to MyJoyOnline.
Ghanaian prophet Jimmy Alla-Mensah is marking 20 years in ministry after leaving a career as a computer network and security engineer in November 2006. Now based in the United States, he had worked for Verizon and Lockheed Martin before turning to preaching, according to MyJoyOnline.
Jimmy Alla-Mensah says the transition came from religious conviction, not professional failure. He says he experienced a conversion on 14 April 2004, then entered prophetic ministry without specialist training, prior experience leading a church or a mentor to guide him.
His journey has led him to emphasise prayer, Bible study, personal discipline and experience. He also stresses the need for mentoring, accountability and maturity, saying that a spiritual calling does not remove the need for wisdom or learning, MyJoyOnline reports.
