Kebba Madi Bojang, leader of Gambia’s National Democratic Party (NDP), has urged voters to use the 5 December presidential election to address the country’s economic difficulties. At an NDP rally in Bundung, he called on Gambians to support the alliance led by his party, according to Kerr Fatou.
Mr Bojang presented the election as a choice between keeping the current administration and taking a different political direction. He promised that his alliance would begin addressing the public’s concerns even before taking office if it won the election, while urging voters to decide based on their experience of living conditions, according to Kerr Fatou.
His remarks came a day after the Gambia Labour Party joined the National Democratic Party alliance, an announcement made on 1 November. They form part of the campaign launched after Manneh’s party announced its candidacy on 5 October.
