Luisélio Salvaterra Pinto petitioned Angola's attorney general and the public procurement commission to review the process that led to Trafigura being hired to supply fuel. He asked, among other things, for clarification on tenders, financial terms and a financing facility of up to 20 million euros, reports Telanon.

Luisélio Salvaterra Pinto petitioned the Office of the Attorney General of São Tomé and Príncipe and asked the Coordination Commission for the Public Procurement System (COSSIL) to review the process linked to a fuel supply contract with Trafigura Pte Ltd, according to Telanon.

He asked the authorities in particular to verify the three international tenders mentioned in publicly circulated documents, whether a contract exists and its financial terms, as well as the use of a financing facility of up to 20 million euros. He also requested clarification on the monitoring and oversight mechanisms in place.

The move makes no allegation of corruption or irregularity. Pinto submitted documents to the institutions concerned and said he wanted to follow the review of his requests and make public the information that would be provided.
