Bishop Vusumuzi Makuluve, founder of God Cares Christian Fellowship in Eswatini, has confirmed his separation from Nolwazi Shongwe. Their families tried to reconcile the couple, but the marriage was not formally registered and Makuluve says he does not want to resume the relationship, according to the Times of Eswatini.

Bishop Vusumuzi Makuluve, founder and senior pastor of God Cares Christian Fellowship, has confirmed the end of his marriage to Nolwazi Shongwe, reports the Times of Eswatini. He said his wife left their home after disagreements and that he later had her belongings taken to where she is currently living.

Makuluve said their families had tried to resolve the couple’s problems, without success. He said the divorce had not been formalised and that their marriage had been conducted under Eswatini customary law, without an application for an official certificate from the Ministry of Home Affairs. The bishop, who has already divorced two previous wives, said he did not want to reconcile with Shongwe.

Shongwe did not respond to the newspaper’s requests for comment. In social media posts, she wrote that their relationship was over and also acknowledged that the couple had failed to make it work. Makuluve declined to give details about the reasons for the separation and did not wish to comment on whether he might marry again.
