An Airbus A320 travelling from Dublin to Rome was diverted to Évreux air base after a bomb alert, with 151 passengers and six crew members on board. The people were taken to safety and bomb disposal teams intervened, according to French authorities cited by L’essentiel.

An Airbus A320 operated by Irish airline Aer Lingus, carrying 157 people between Dublin and Rome, was diverted on Thursday to Évreux air base in France after a bomb alert. The 151 passengers and six crew members were taken to safety, Matignon announced.

Bomb disposal teams intervened after the aircraft landed at 10.05am local time, according to the Flightradar website. Aer Lingus said flight EI402 had landed safely and that the airline was arranging for passengers to reach their final destination.

Two other flights were affected by bomb alerts on Thursday: a Finnair aircraft travelling from Helsinki to Rome and a Wizz Air flight between Milan and Warsaw, which was diverted to Vienna, Italian news agency Ansa reported. Several similar alerts targeting European flights on Tuesday had proved false, according to the authorities in the countries concerned.
