The Congolese government and the United Nations system opened a workshop in Brazzaville on Wednesday 28 October to validate the sustainable development cooperation framework covering 2027-2031. Economy, Planning, Statistics and Forecasting Minister Ludovic Ngatsé asked participants to verify the coherence of the priorities, their feasibility, funding and risk-management mechanisms, according to Brazza-Infos.
The document is intended to serve as a joint five-year roadmap between Congo and UN agencies. It is based on three pillars: economic transformation founded on natural capital, job creation and resilience; strengthening human capital through education, health and social inclusion; and more open and effective governance, according to Brazza-Infos.
The UN resident coordinator in Congo, Abdourahamane Diallo, said UN agencies would align themselves with national priorities to strengthen capacities, mobilise their expertise and support flagship projects. The expected results notably concern digital services, access to healthcare and education, employment, and protection against economic and climate shocks.
The workshop comes the day after the review of the priorities for the future cooperation framework, presented in the review of the priorities for the next cooperation framework. Consultations held since the beginning of 2026 have involved ministries, private partners and civil society, in connection with Vision Congo 2063 and the 2027-2031 national development plan.
