Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has confirmed that Brazilian striker João Pedro will be unavailable for a few weeks. He will miss Chelsea’s upcoming matches against Liverpool and Manchester United, Alonso told the media ahead of the League Cup match against Liverpool.

English Premier League club Chelsea will be without Brazilian striker João Pedro for several weeks, manager Xabi Alonso has confirmed. The player missed the 2-0 defeat by Tottenham last weekend and will also miss the team’s upcoming matches, according to the Daily Post.

Xabi Alonso announced the absence at a press conference before the English League Cup match against Liverpool. Chelsea are also due to face Manchester United soon, in a schedule that will make replacing the Brazilian striker more difficult, the Daily Post reports.

João Pedro’s injury comes days after Chelsea’s defeat by Tottenham at Stamford Bridge. Spurs won 2-0 on 24 October, a result that had already been marked by the player’s absence.
