The Cape Verdean government has decided to keep the price of butane gas in November at October’s level, while petrol and diesel prices could fall slightly. The decision comes as the MpD party considers the government’s response to rising fuel prices inadequate, according to Expresso das Ilhas.

The Cape Verdean government will keep the price of butane gas in November at October’s level, while available indicators point to slight falls in petrol and diesel prices. The decision was approved at a cabinet meeting on Tuesday 27 October, according to the newspaper Expresso das Ilhas.

The announcement comes as the ruling MpD party is accused by the opposition of failing to do enough to address the effects of rising fuel prices on Cape Verdean households’ cost of living. The gas price freeze applies for November.
