The victims were treated at Siguiri district hospital, according to Lieutenant Abdoulaye Bassirou Condé, a doctor with the High Command of the National Gendarmerie.
The six injured people received emergency treatment and are no longer in life-threatening condition, the doctor said. They included Souleymane Traoré and Doubanin Keïta, from Frenkamaya, as well as Fodé Mamadi Bèrété, a passing motorcyclist who was hit by shotgun pellets and suffered, among other injuries, head trauma without loss of consciousness.
Lieutenant Abdoulaye Bassirou Condé called on the authorities to take measures against such clashes. He deplored the shooting between two hamlets he described as almost belonging to the same family and called the situation a disgrace for the Siguiri region, according to Visionguinee.
