A video shared online appears to show a Ukrainian F-16 fighter jet destroying a Russian Geran attack drone in mid-air. The date, location and authenticity of the interception remain to be established, while the recording could show an older confrontation, reports the Zambian Observer.
A video shared online shows, according to Zambian media outlet the Zambian Observer, a Ukrainian F-16 fighter jet intercepting and destroying a Russian Geran drone in mid-air. Russia uses these aircraft for long-range attacks on military positions and critical infrastructure, the outlet reports.
The Geran series is associated with the family of Shahed drones, designed in Iran. However, the date and location of the recording have not been independently verified, and the footage could show an old interception being recirculated, according to the Zambian Observer.
