Trump says Nicki Minaj could become White House press secretary

Donald Trump said appointing rapper Nicki Minaj as White House press secretary could be a good idea, after the suggestion was made publicly. No official appointment has been announced, and Trump also named presenter Benny Johnson as a possible candidate, reports Tuko.

Donald Trump said that American rapper Nicki Minaj could be appointed as White House press secretary, without announcing her candidacy. Asked about the possibility on The Benny Show, the US president replied: “That’s a good idea. I’ll have to think about it,” reports Tuko.

The speculation began after Nicki Minaj flew aboard Air Force One with Steven Cheung, the White House communications director, before a Republican rally in Port Huron, Michigan. Steven Cheung posted a joke on X presenting the rapper as a possible future press secretary after she praised Donald Trump’s economic policy and international actions.

Donald Trump also named presenter Benny Johnson as another possible candidate. Nicki Minaj reposted Steven Cheung’s message with emojis, without confirming that she wanted to take up the post.
