Traditional healer S. Sow, nicknamed “Bathie”, was found dead at his home in the Sikilo-Nord neighbourhood of Kolda, southern Senegal, on Monday 2 November 2026. No apparent injuries were found on his body. The public prosecutor ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death, Senego reports.
Aged 55, S. Sow lived alone in a house reportedly lent to him by T. Diallo. Investigators found twelve sachets under his bed containing a substance suspected to be Indian hemp, as well as documents and 10,000 CFA francs. Firefighters took the body to the mortuary at Kolda Regional Hospital, while an investigation was opened under the authority of the prosecutor.
The death follows the discovery of a man found dead at his home in Manéah on 1 November, and that of a six-year-old child who died in a septic tank in Ziguinchor, reported the same day.
