Participants highlighted the activities of Somali entrepreneurs in aviation, livestock exports, manufacturing, agriculture, financial services, hydrocarbon trading and real estate. Their networks link the markets of Somalia, Kenya and other East African countries in particular.
The forum follows calls for greater integration of African markets, after the East African Business Council backed market unity on 21 September (East African market unity).
