Russia and the African countries attending the third Russia-Africa summit have adopted a joint action plan covering 2027-2029. The document provides for stronger economic ties, health cooperation, training and humanitarian initiatives, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin, quoted by the TASS news agency.
Russia and the African countries attending the third Russia-Africa summit adopted a joint action plan in Moscow on Thursday for 2027-2029. It is intended to strengthen economic, trade, health and humanitarian cooperation, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced, according to the TASS news agency.
The plan includes measures in areas such as training and trade. Moscow will extend its programme of assistance to African countries in combating infectious diseases until 2029, including supplies of medicines, mobile laboratories and joint epidemic preparedness exercises, Putin said.
The Russian president also pledged to continue grain deliveries, either commercially or free of charge, and to increase the number of African students at Russian universities, including through state scholarships. The plan provides a framework for implementing commitments made at the summit over the next three years. It follows Moscow’s calls to strengthen relations with African countries, including at the Russia-Africa summit on 29 October.
