Rotary explored new partnerships in Bangui to strengthen care for premature newborns in the paediatric department. An ambulance and an incubator have already been donated through a foreign partner club, Centra-News reports.
Rotary District 9150 Governor Hyacinthe Defoundoux visited the paediatric department in Bangui on 27 October to explore new avenues for collaboration in support of premature newborns, Centra-News reports. He was accompanied by Professor Gody and representatives of the NGO DAY.
Discussions focused on strengthening technical support for the department and developing new partnerships to improve care for premature babies, who are particularly vulnerable, according to Centra-News. Rotary had already contributed to the department by donating an ambulance and an incubator, delivered through the Rotary Club of Bangui on behalf of a foreign partner club.
The initiative continues Rotary’s support for health in the Central African Republic. On 24 October, the organisation announced increased support for the fight against polio as part of its health activities against polio.
