Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani wants hybrid warfare to be a central issue at the next G7 summit, amid cyberattacks and threats targeting aircraft in Europe. The ministers will meet on 9 and 10 November in Paris, according to Expresso das Ilhas.

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani has asked the G7 to make “hybrid warfare” a central issue at its next meeting in Paris, citing cyberattacks and threats targeting aircraft in Europe, according to Expresso das Ilhas. The foreign ministers of Germany, Canada, the United States, France, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom are due to meet on 9 and 10 November in the French capital.

Tajani also said that his personal data had been published on the “dark web” and attributed these intimidations to his support for the Ukrainian resistance, Expresso das Ilhas reports. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, for her part, accused “pro-Russian” hackers of being behind the attacks.

The statements come as attacks, whose perpetrator remains to be established, have affected the refrigeration systems of several European supermarkets and false alerts concerning aircraft have been reported across the continent, according to Expresso das Ilhas.
