The Central Bank of the Congo recommends active liquidity management, notably through the use of Treasury deposits, as well as developing public securities and lending in the national currency. Its governor also recommends increasing investment in agriculture, transport and industry, and diversifying energy sources to reduce the economy’s exposure to external shocks, according to Le Potentiel.
These measures extend the maintenance of the Central Bank’s policy rate at 12.5%, decided on 8 October by the Congolese monetary institution.
