Hussein Mwinyi launches Tanzanian magazine for South Korean investors

Zanzibar President Hussein Mwinyi launched Tanzanite in Seoul, a magazine published by Tanzania’s embassy to showcase the country’s investment, trade and tourism opportunities. The publication aims to strengthen exchanges with South Korea, according to Tanzanian daily newspaper Daily News.

Zanzibar President Hussein Mwinyi launched Tanzanite magazine in Seoul, the first publication produced by Tanzania’s embassy in South Korea, to present investment, trade and tourism opportunities in Tanzania to South Korean audiences, Daily News reports. The launch took place at the end of his official visit to South Korea, which focused on strengthening bilateral relations and economic cooperation.

The magazine presents Tanzania’s economic progress, development projects and opportunities for cooperation between the two countries. During his visit, Hussein Mwinyi invited South Korean companies to partner with local businesses to develop strategic projects in Zanzibar.

The president of Zanzibar also met Tanzanian students in South Korea and urged them to bring back their knowledge and skills after completing their studies. Tanzania’s ambassador to South Korea, Noel Emmanuel Kaganda, said that Hussein Mwinyi was the first president of Zanzibar to make an official visit to the country.

The magazine’s launch follows the South Korean funding negotiations for Zanzibar, held on 30 October, and the selection of Zanzibar to host an inter-island tourism forum in 2027, announced on 1 November.
