Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke says the alliance between Accord, the APC and the PDP supports only Bola Tinubu’s presidential re-election. He thus rules out any agreement for legislative elections and is targeting more than 1.5 million votes for Tinubu in Osun State, according to his statement in Osogbo.

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke said on Thursday 22 October that the alliance bringing together Accord, the APC and the PDP in the Nigerian state was limited to the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in the January 2027 presidential election, reports Nigerian daily Punch. He specified that the agreement would not extend to legislative elections.

Ademola Adeleke announced that the coalition was targeting more than 1.5 million votes for Bola Tinubu in Osun. He presented the alliance as a gathering of political leaders from several parties around the president’s presidential candidacy and called on its members to mobilise voters, according to Punch.

The APC’s national secretary, Ajibola Basiru, asked the state’s political leaders to support Ademola Adeleke in the campaign for Bola Tinubu’s presidential re-election, reports Punch. The governor had already unveiled a 344-member committee for Tinubu on 21 October.
